St Vincent de Paul Society

Did you know that, every year, our Lakewood Catholic parishes receive dozens of phone calls from  people desperately looking for help?

Help with food shortage, rent payments, and utility bills. These people are struggling to make ends meet and provide for themselves and their families. To better serve these friends in need, our parishes of St. Clement, St. Luke and St. James will be joining together to form the Lakewood St. Vincent DePaul Society.

We need your prayers, we need your financial support and we need new members to serve this growing need in our community.

Please contact your parish office if you are interested in joining this ministry or in supporting it in any way that you can.

Thank you! Together, we can make a difference!

Pray With Us!

If my people upon whom my name has been pronounced, humble themselves and pray, and seek my presence and turn from their evil ways, I will hear them from heaven and pardon their sins and revive their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

Almighty God, as people of faith we are always reminded of Your great love for us and for every individual You created.

Yet our hearts are heavy as we mourn the unborn who have not had the opportunity to live full lives.

We mourn the loss of our sisters and brothers who were denied the gift of life through abortion.

We also mourn the loss of their gifts to the world, which would have enriched the lives of so many.

During these 40 Days of the Prayer Campaign for Life our prayer is for a conversion of heart for all who contribute to the act of abortion. We pray that they may grow to appreciate God’s life in the womb and His love for all who share in His life. We also pray for the conversion of our own hearts so that we may be worthy instruments for God’s love for others by what we say and do. May God bless all who are dedicated to protecting all human life from conception to natural death. May their efforts be strengthened by this time of prayer and fasting.

Most Reverend Richard G. Lennon, Bishop of Cleveland
