 PSR Mission

Family Parish School of Religion is a joint program serving the Parishes of Saint James Parish and Saint Clement Parish. The program supports families as they gather weekly for catechesis. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) approved textbook, “Blest Are We” is the basis of the program.

The Family Program meets regularly from September to May in the Saint Clement Parish Hall.

In addition to the textbook, families are offered a variety of prayer experiences, celebrations of liturgical seasons, including Family Stations of the Cross, Reconciliation services, as well as an annual May crowning. We also take an in depth look at Saints and Holy People. In addition, families are invited to prepare for the Sunday liturgy by prayerfully reading the Gospel and reflecting on questions together.

In addition, the Diocesan mandated Praesidium program for students in kindergarten through 12th grade is integrated into the Family Parish School of religion Program annually. Students in second and eighth grade will have additional materials to complete in preparation of the celebration of their Holy First Communion and Confirmation. Students in kindergarten through 5th grade take part in the “Called to Protect “ Program. Students in 6th grade through 12th grade take part in the 3 part video series “Called to Protect for Youth”.
