Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is an approach to religious education of the child, rooted in Sacred Scripture and Liturgy and based on the Montessori Method. Children ages 3 – 6 (K) gather in a space prepared for them called an atrium. This specially prepared space contains materials for the children to work with and enter into prayer. Handcrafted wooden dioramas depict the key events in the life of Jesus, the Annunciation, the Visitation, the Nativity, and the Presentation in the Temple. Children also work with materials to learn about the Land of Israel and the City of Jerusalem.

All are invited to visit the atrium on Wednesday, September 14, 6:30 pm – 8 pm, to learn more about this beautiful ministry. The atrium is located at the Saint James Parish Center, located behind the church on Northwood Avenue. Please enter the chapel door facing Northwood Avenue.
